**Mohanlal’s ‘Drishyam 3’ to Begin Filming Tomorrow**

Mohanlal, the acclaimed lead actor of the Drishyam franchise, has officially confirmed that filming for *Drishyam 3* will commence on September 22. He made the announcement while addressing the media, just a day after being honored with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award. This esteemed award will be presented at the 71st National Film Awards ceremony in New Delhi on September 23.

Notably, Mohanlal becomes only the second Malayali actor to receive this distinguished honor, following in the footsteps of legendary filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan.

**Production Details and What to Expect**

Mohanlal shared that the production of *Drishyam 3* will begin with a traditional pooja ceremony. Following the launch, he plans to travel to New Delhi to attend the National Film Awards event.

The *Drishyam* franchise first captivated audiences in 2013 with the story of Georgekutty, a cable TV operator who goes to extraordinary lengths to protect his family after a crime changes their lives. The sequel, *Drishyam 2*, released in 2021, continued this gripping narrative several years later.

Director Jeethu Joseph had earlier hinted that *Drishyam 3* would naturally progress Georgekutty’s story. Unlike the complex thriller format of its predecessor, this installment is expected to take a different narrative approach.

**A Widely Adapted Film Franchise**

The *Drishyam* films have enjoyed immense popularity and have been remade in multiple Indian languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. Additionally, the franchise has even been adapted in Chinese, highlighting its status as one of the most widely remade Indian film series.

Mohanlal was last seen in the film *Hridayapoorvam*, and fans are eagerly anticipating his return as Georgekutty in this upcoming chapter of the *Drishyam* saga.
