1949 Oldsmobile Futuramic Series 88 Deluxe Station Wagon

This 1949 Oldsmobile Futuramic Series 88 Deluxe station wagon was originally sold in Texas and is believed to have remained there through a 2021 refurbishment, which was carried out under the ownership of the seller’s father. Following the seller’s acquisition in 2025, the vehicle was relocated to Nebraska.

The car features a striking green paintwork, complemented by wood trim on the windows, sides, and split rear tailgate. It is powered by a 303 cubic inch Rocket V8 engine, factory rated at 135 horsepower, paired with a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Additional exterior highlights include a windshield visor, hood ornament, rear fender skirts, and 15-inch steel wheels fitted with hubcaps and trim rings. The tires are 235/75 Coker Classic whitewalls, contributing to the classic aesthetic.

Inside, the cabin was refreshed during the 2021 refurbishment and presents front and rear bench seating upholstered in brown. The dashboard is home to a half-moon style instrument cluster with a 110 mph speedometer and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. An analog clock sits above the push-button radio, and an under-dash air conditioning unit was installed prior to the seller taking ownership.

The vehicle is equipped with functional features such as the split rear tailgate providing access to a carpeted cargo area, chrome bumpers, and brake drums on all four corners. However, the seller notes some minor issues: the left door only opens from the inside, the overhead light cover is broken, and the brake lights do not brighten as they should when engaged.

The odometer displays approximately 10,100 miles, with around 100 miles added under the current ownership. The seller advises that the mileage is not accurate and the true total mileage is unknown. In preparation for sale, a 40-amp flat fuse was replaced.

This Oldsmobile retains much of its original charm, with the wood trim also restored in 2021 to complement the fresh green paint. It is now offered for sale in Nebraska with a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.

Decoding the body plate reveals further detailed information about the vehicle’s specifications and history, underscoring its well-documented provenance for interested collectors and enthusiasts.
