**Mumbai: Disha Patani’s Security Beefed Up After Bareilly Shooting Incident**

A week after a shocking shooting incident outside Bollywood actor Disha Patani’s ancestral home in Bareilly, the Mumbai Police have intensified security at her residence. This move follows an alert from Bareilly Police urging their Mumbai counterparts to remain vigilant, as reported by India Today.

### The Shooting Incident

The shooting occurred in the early hours of September 12 near Patani’s Civil Lines home. Multiple rounds, including aerial shots, were fired around 4:30 AM. Fortunately, no one was injured in the attack.

The violence was reportedly linked to comments made by Disha’s sister, Khushboo Patani, about Hindu saint Aniruddhacharya Maharaj. Khushboo had criticized Aniruddhacharya Maharaj for his views on women in live-in relationships. However, many misunderstood her remarks as a criticism of Premanand Maharaj’s views on youngsters having multiple relationships, which sparked further controversy.

Shortly after the shooting, a post allegedly from the Goldy Brar gang claimed responsibility, stating, “The insult of our deities will not be tolerated. This was just a trailer.”

### Investigation Progress

A joint operation involving Delhi Police, Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF), and Haryana STF led to identifying two shooters involved in the Bareilly attack. On September 17, Ravindra (alias Kallu) and Arun, both linked to the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar gang, were killed in an encounter near Ghaziabad’s Tronica City following a shootout. Four police officers sustained injuries during this encounter.

The investigation is ongoing. On September 19, a fifth suspect, Ramniwas (alias Deepak) from Rajasthan—who had surveilled Patani’s Bareilly home days before the attack—was injured during another encounter. His accomplice, Anil Nivansi from Haryana, was arrested, and police recovered a pistol and cartridges.

Authorities continue to clamp down on the network behind the attack while maintaining heightened security arrangements for Disha Patani. The Mumbai Police remain on high alert to ensure the safety of the actor and her family.
