After the historic success of *Chhapaak*, producer Dinesh Vijan is set to collaborate once again with Vicky Kaushal on another timeless epic titled *Mahavatar*. The film will be directed by Amar Kaushik, known for *Stree 2*, and is based on the life of Chiranjeevi Parashurama.

The writing process for this epic is currently underway in full swing, with insiders revealing that Maddock Films plans to mount the project on an unimaginable scale, promising a grand cinematic spectacle.

Bollywood Hungama has exclusively learned that both Vicky Kaushal and Amar Kaushik have decided to give up non-vegetarian food and alcohol as part of their preparation for *Mahavatar*. “A film like *Mahavatar* requires complete focus, and the duo have decided to give their all to make it a pure spectacle for the cinema-going audience,” sources reveal.

They will begin their prep for the film with a grand pooja ceremony scheduled for the middle of next year. Amar Kaushik is already working on the pre-visualization (pre-viz) of the film, while Vicky Kaushal is currently focusing on completing his upcoming project, *Love and War*, which is reportedly running behind schedule.

“While Amar has already given up on non-veg food and alcohol, Vicky has decided to adopt this regimen once he wraps up shooting for *Love and War*. It’s his way of showing respect to the role of Lord Parashurama,” insiders added.

Production for *Mahavatar* is expected to commence towards the end of 2026, with a planned release in 2028. The film will undergo one year of production followed by six months of post-production. Given the extensive VFX work involved in creating the world of *Mahavatar*, a considerable amount of time will be dedicated to visual effects.
