The Nintendo Switch 2 has been exceedingly popular, and Nintendo is confident this trend will continue. Today, the company has updated its hardware sales forecast, projecting nearly 20 million units sold for the Switch 2.

Nintendo released its Q2 FY26 earnings report on November 4, 2025. Within the report, the company revised its sales forecast for the Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo now expects to sell 19 million units during its 2026 fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2026. It’s important to note that this period does not represent a full year of sales, as the Nintendo Switch 2 was released on June 5, 2025.

Previously, Nintendo had set its expectations at 15 million Switch 2 units sold. The new forecast marks a significant increase of 4 million units since the May 2025 prediction.

In addition to updating its sales outlook, Nintendo is ramping up production. The company plans to manufacture 25 million Switch 2 units by March 2026 to meet anticipated demand.
