Over the past several months, Escambia County has opted to use county staff rather than outside contractors for road and drainage projects. This approach has helped save not only time but also money.

“We save a lot of money by doing it in-house,” said Public Works Director Jamey Higdon. He added, “Using county crews and equipment also saves time compared to putting out [projects to contractors].”
