What to know about the 4 suspects in the Louvre crown jewels heist
**Four Suspects in Louvre Heist Face Charges and Remain Incarcerated**
*Paris, France* – Four suspects involved in the daring Louvre heist have been formally charged and are currently incarcerated. Among them are three individuals believed to be directly involved in the break-in at the museum, where thieves made off with crown jewels valued at an astonishing $102 million.
Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau highlighted the apparent “closeness” among the suspects. Notably, two of the men were convicted together in a 2015 theft case. All four individuals reside in the northern suburbs of Paris.
Despite intensive investigations, authorities have yet to recover the stolen jewelry. Additionally, the fourth member of the so-called “commando” remains at large. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez revealed that investigators are also pursuing leads to identify the mastermind behind the crime.
In accordance with French law, detailed personal information about the suspects and ongoing investigations has not been publicly released, to maintain the integrity of the police work.

### What We Know About the Suspects So Far
**1. 34-Year-Old Man Arrested at Paris Airport**
A 34-year-old Algerian national, who has lived in France since 2010, is suspected to be one of the two thieves who entered the Apollo Gallery. Armed with disc cutters, they broke into the display cases to steal the jewels. He was apprehended on October 25, six days after the heist, at Charles de Gaulle Airport as he attempted to fly to Algeria without a return ticket.
Residing in Aubervilliers, a northern Paris suburb, the man is primarily known to police for road traffic offenses and a single prior theft. His DNA matched evidence found on a scooter used in the getaway. He told investigators that he is currently unemployed but previously worked as a garbage collector and delivery man.
He faces preliminary charges of theft by an organized gang and criminal conspiracy.

**2. 39-Year-Old Man Believed to Have Entered the Apollo Gallery**
Also arrested on October 25 at his home in Aubervilliers, this 39-year-old man is believed to be the second individual who entered the Apollo Gallery. DNA evidence links him to one of the broken glass cases and to items left behind at the scene.
He has a history with police for multiple thefts. Currently, he is set to stand trial later this month for damaging a mirror and a prison cell door during a separate theft-related detention, for which he was later cleared. He told investigators that he operates as an illegal taxi driver.
Like the first suspect, he faces charges of theft by an organized gang and criminal conspiracy.
Prosecutor Beccuau noted that both men gave “minimalist” statements and “partially admitted” their involvement in the heist.

**3. 37-Year-Old Man With a Record of Theft**
Arrested on Wednesday, 10 days after the heist, this 37-year-old man is believed to be the third member of the four-person team. He reportedly helped bring a lift truck to the Louvre, disguising it as renovation equipment to gain entry at the foot of the museum. The team then fled on two scooters toward eastern Paris.
His DNA was found inside the basket lift truck. While he denies involvement, his criminal record includes 11 previous convictions, 10 of which were for theft. He was convicted along with the 39-year-old suspect in the 2015 theft case.
He faces the same preliminary charges: theft by an organized gang and criminal conspiracy.

**4. 38-Year-Old Woman Accused of Being an Accomplice**
Arrested Wednesday, the 38-year-old woman is the longtime partner of the 37-year-old suspect. The couple, who have children together, live in La Courneuve, another northern suburb near Aubervilliers.
The woman denies any involvement in the heist, according to her lawyer. A small amount of her DNA was found on the basket lift, which the prosecutor explained could be due to “DNA transfer” — meaning her DNA may have transferred indirectly via contact with another person or object.
She faces preliminary charges of complicity in theft by an organized gang and criminal conspiracy.

Authorities continue their search for the missing fourth suspect and the individual or individuals who may have orchestrated the crime. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
