Explosion at Harvard Medical School appears to have been intentional, authorities say; no injuries
BOSTON – An explosion occurred early Saturday at Harvard Medical School that appears to have been intentional, authorities reported. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
A university police officer who responded to a fire alarm attempted to stop two unidentified individuals seen running from the Goldenson Building. The officer then proceeded to the location where the alert was triggered, according to a statement from university police.
The Boston Fire Department later determined that the explosion was deliberate. A thorough sweep of the building found no additional devices, police confirmed.
Authorities have released grainy photos showing two people wearing face coverings and what appeared to be sweatshirts. The investigation is ongoing as officials work to identify the individuals involved.
