Andrew Cuomo, Curtis Sliwa closing gap on socialist Zohran Mamdani in latest NYC mayoral election poll
Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is gaining ground on socialist New York Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani in the mayoral race, according to a new poll released Saturday. Cuomo, who is running as an independent, has climbed to within 7 percentage points of Mamdani, with Republican Curtis Sliwa not far behind.
The latest Atlas Intel poll shows Mamdani leading the field with 41 percent, followed by Cuomo at 34 percent and Sliwa at 24 percent. This marks a tighter race than recent public polls have indicated.
In comparison, the average from Real Clear Politics polling shows Mamdani leading by 14.5 percentage points, with 45 percent, followed by Cuomo at 31 percent and Sliwa at 17 percent.
The Atlas poll has a margin of error of 3 percentage points, suggesting a potentially closer contest than previously expected.
The poll was released a day after Cuomo campaigned in Brighton Beach, where he told supporters there is “no way” Sliwa can win, adding that he “can only make Zohran Mamdani win.”
Election day is Tuesday, and early voters have already begun heading to the polls.
