A woman in Chicago believed that having her children in the car would protect her from arrest while impeding ICE operations. Unfortunately for her, that assumption proved incorrect.

“She said, ‘I got kids in my car!’” an official recalled. “We warned her.”

This incident highlights a troubling tactic sometimes used by individuals resisting law enforcement—using children as shields to avoid arrest.
