**Mohanlal’s ‘Hridayapoorvam’ Faces Backlash from Doctor over Organ Transplantation Scenes**

Mohanlal’s latest film, *Hridayapoorvam*, directed by Sathyan Anthikad, has come under criticism from the medical community for its portrayal of organ transplantation. Dr. Haris Chirackal, head of the Urology Department at Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, expressed concerns over the film’s depiction of post-transplant care.

**Concerns Over Post-Transplant Care Portrayal**

Dr. Chirackal highlighted the crucial importance of post-transplant care, noting that patients who undergo organ transplants are at risk of organ rejection and infections. He pointed out that the movie treats this serious subject lightly, stating, “Comedy has no place here.” According to him, transplant patients must avoid infections from people and animals and steer clear of accidents or physical altercations to protect their health.

**Misrepresentation of the Heart**

The doctor also criticized the film’s depiction of the heart, emphasizing that the heart is a vital organ that pumps blood and does not possess feelings, as sometimes dramatized in cinema. He remarked, “The scientific awareness of the people and the credibility of cinema is lost by making even science twisted, broken and distorted.”

Despite his critiques, Dr. Chirackal made it clear that he does not intend to disparage the film as a whole: “I am not saying bad things about the movie. The movie is good. I pointed out only one disagreement in its content. That’s all.”

*Hridayapoorvam* stars Mohanlal and Malavika Mohanan in lead roles and features a strong supporting cast including Sangeeth Prathap, Sangita Madhavan Nair, Siddique, Janardhanan, Lalu Alex, Baburaj, Sabitha Anand, and Nishan.
