Emergency dispatch simulator 911 Operator is free on Steam for a limited time
I’ve only ever had to call emergency services once in my life, when an elderly neighbour had a bad fall down her back stairs. Fortunately, the ambulance arrived in a timely fashion. This real-life experience is quite different from what you encounter in *911 Operator*, a frantic simulation game that captures the difficulty of dispatching paramedics, police, and firefighters while managing a tight budget and filtering out pranks and timewasters.
The game sounds a lot more exciting than simply sending out ambulances in suburban Australia. *911 Operator* offers a career mode that takes you on a tour of six cities across the United States as they face various disasters — bomb attacks in Washington DC, an earthquake in San Francisco, and more. There’s also a freeplay mode, allowing you to choose any city in the world as your map. Although, as you might expect, the details and voices remain distinctly American.
To celebrate the studio’s 10th anniversary, Jutsu Games is giving *911 Operator* away for free. Over the years, they’ve also released *112 Operator* and are currently working on *Infection Free Zone*, a post-apocalyptic colony sim featuring zombies, which is currently in early access.
Like *911 Operator*, *Infection Free Zone* lets you import real-world map data to build your base on — a neat touch that adds depth to the gameplay experience.
