Two Assam Rifles jawans were killed and at least three others injured when a group of armed men attacked a paramilitary vehicle in Manipur’s Bishnupur district on Friday evening, officials confirmed.

The incident occurred around 6 pm in the Nambol Sabal Leikai area of Bishnupur. According to sources, a group of gunmen ambushed the vehicle carrying Assam Rifles personnel who were traveling from Imphal to Bishnupur district.

One jawan lost his life in the attack, while three others sustained injuries. The injured personnel were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment by the police and local residents.

Authorities are currently investigating the attack to identify the assailants and determine the motive behind the ambush. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
