16k-Mile 1988 Chevrolet Corvette Callaway Twin Turbo Convertible 4-Speed
This 1988 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was expertly modified by Callaway Cars of Old Lyme, Connecticut, to their renowned Twin Turbo specification. Powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.7-liter L98 V8 engine, this example is paired with a four-speed manual transmission featuring automatic overdrive on the top three gears and a limited-slip differential. Finished in sleek Black over Saddle leather, it combines classic styling with impressive performance upgrades.
The exterior features a manually operated saddle convertible top alongside a body-color hardtop, complemented by pop-up headlights, fog lights, and power-adjustable side mirrors. This Corvette rides on Callaway-branded 17″ Dymag wheels with Corvette center caps and locking bolts, mounted with Nitto Nt555 G2 tires. The Z52 Sport Handling package enhances driving dynamics, while stopping power is provided by anti-lock four-wheel disc brakes. Recent mechanical updates include a power steering pump replacement in 2025.
Inside, the power-adjustable seats are upholstered in luxurious Saddle leather and matched with color-coordinated carpets and door panels. The cabin is equipped with numerous amenities such as a Delco-Bose sound system, cruise control, power windows and locks, an onboard computer, and air conditioning for comfort and convenience. A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a digital instrument panel displaying speed, tachometer, fuel level, oil pressure and temperature, coolant temperature, and fuel economy. Additionally, a Callaway boost gauge is mounted in the center stack.
Unique to this Callaway model, a plaque on the center console identifies it as #64 of only 400 built for the 1988 model year. A Callaway Twin-Turbo badge adorns the center stack, and the Service Parts Identification sticker under the center console’s storage lid confirms option B2K.
The powerhouse 5.7-liter L98 V8 was transformed by Callaway from new to the B2K twin-turbo configuration, boasting proprietary .006″ oversized pistons that reduce the compression ratio to 7.5:1, a forged crankshaft, Clevite bearings, and stainless-steel valves. The twin turbochargers include integrated wastegates and dual intercoolers fed through specialized hood ducts. Callaway rated this powerplant at an impressive 382 horsepower and 562 lb-ft of torque.
Maintenance and recent work include installing an aluminum radiator, rebuilding the turbochargers, and replacing the scavenge pump assembly, wastegate and turbo gaskets, ignition components, V-band clamps, and fuel pumps. The Doug Nash “4+3” four-speed manual transmission was rebuilt in 2021, with clutch release bearing and slave cylinder replacements following thereafter.
This Corvette has traveled approximately 16,000 miles, of which around 20 were added under the current ownership. The Carfax report indicates a clean history free from accidents or damage, though it lists at least one open recall. The dealer acquired this highly desirable Callaway C4 in 2025, and it is now offered with service records, spare parts, and a clean Wisconsin title.
Originally, the Callaway twin-turbo conversion was available through select Chevrolet dealers as Regular Production Code (RPO) B2K from 1987 through 1991. Cars were shipped directly from the Bowling Green assembly plant to Callaway for their expert conversion, making this a rare and expertly crafted example of American performance and engineering.
