‘No Rizz’: Jen Psaki Wonders What Is ‘Going On In The Mind’ Of ‘Scarier’ JD Vance’s Wife

MSNBC’s Jen Psaki commented Tuesday on a left-wing podcast about Second Lady Usha Vance, expressing curiosity about what goes on “in the mind” of Vice President JD Vance’s wife. Psaki implied that Usha Vance might need to be “rescued” from her husband, amid growing speculation about the 2028 presidential race and predictions that Vance could lead the GOP ticket.
During an appearance on the “I’ve Had It” podcast episode titled “Devil Wears MAGA,” which aired Tuesday, co-host Jennifer Welch shared her belief that Republicans plan to elevate Vance as part of efforts to undermine democracy.
“I think the little Manchurian candidate, JD Vance, wants to be president more than anything else. I always wonder what’s going on in the mind of his wife,” Psaki said, as co-host Angie “Pumps” Sullivan shouted in agreement.
“Like, are you okay? Please blink four times. We’ll come over here, we’ll save you,” Psaki added, suggesting that Vance is “willing to do anything to get there.”
The former White House Press Secretary went on to describe Vance as “scarier in certain ways,” highlighting his youth, ambition, and chameleon-like ability to tailor his message to different audiences.
“Now, what’s also true though, is JD Vance is not, he’s in some ways goodish on paper, if you like what he believes in, I don’t know. But I don’t know that he can take the whole movement with him,” Psaki said.
As Psaki questioned whether Vance could unite Republicans in 2028, the two “I’ve Had It” hosts agreed, expressing doubts about his ability to do so.
“No way. He has no rizz,” Welch said, using a popular slang term for charisma.
“Got no rizz, right?” Psaki appeared to agree, adding, “He just is a little odd. Trump’s odd in a different way. So I’m skeptical of that. I mean, everything going on right now, and I think we have to be very clear-eyed about this, is about trying to manipulate the public around elections.”
An Emerson College poll released Friday found Vance holding a narrow lead over Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom in a hypothetical 2028 presidential matchup. The survey showed 46% of respondents backing Vance, 45% supporting Newsom, and 10% undecided.
