Obituary: Valerie J. Dodge

**Valerie “Val” J. (Fryer) Dodge, 64, of Plainfield, N.H.**
Valerie “Val” J. (Fryer) Dodge, 64, of Plainfield, N.H., passed away peacefully at home on October 13, 2025, after a courageous year-long battle with glioblastoma.
She was born in Augusta on June 6, 1961, to Sally M. (Card) Fryer of Merrimack and the late Joseph N. Morin.
Valerie dedicated 20 years to Fulling Mill Fly Fishing in Claremont, N.H. Prior to that, she worked for Cole Haan in Yarmouth and HKTA Architects in Portland.
She cherished time spent with family and friends across the country, from Maine to California, taking great pride in the success and happiness of her children. Valerie treasured the brief moments with her grandchildren, enjoying cooking and baking, playing “Nana Monster,” and laughing through indoor “snowball fights.”
As she prepared for retirement, Valerie and her husband Dana restored “Lola,” a vintage camper, and planned trips around New England and the Northeast.
Valerie is survived by her husband of 43 years, Dana Dodge of Plainfield, N.H.; daughter Samantha Thomas and her husband James of Weare, N.H.; son Connor Dodge of Omaha, Neb.; two grandchildren, Maxwell and Sarah Thomas; her mother Sally M. (Card) Fryer of Merrimack; sister Karen Schofield of Merrimack; stepmother Diane Morin; stepbrother Bob Boos; and stepsister Anne Whitehead, all of Concord, Calif., as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
