**India’s Biggest Private Satellite ‘Drishti’ to Launch in Early 2026**

Bengaluru-based space-tech start-up GalaxEye is set to make a significant leap in India’s private space sector with the upcoming launch of “Drishti” — the country’s largest privately built commercial satellite. Scheduled for the first quarter of 2026, Drishti will be launched aboard a SpaceX mission, marking a milestone for India’s growing space industry.

### Cutting-Edge Technological Advancements

Drishti will feature GalaxEye’s proprietary imaging technology known as “SyncFused OptoSAR.” This innovative system combines optical and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data on a single platform, a first-of-its-kind technology globally. By integrating multiple sensor data, the satellite aims to offer advanced geospatial analysis capabilities.

These capabilities will serve a wide array of applications, such as border surveillance, disaster management, defense utilities, and infrastructure monitoring, making it a versatile tool for various sectors.

### Satellite Features and Specifications

Weighing 160 kg and roughly one cubic meter in size, Drishti will be equipped with a deployable 3.5-meter antenna. It is designed to deliver imagery at an impressive resolution of 1.5 meters. Additionally, the satellite will have a global revisit time of 7 to 10 days, allowing frequent updates of the areas under observation.

According to GalaxEye co-founder and CEO Suyash Singh, this multi-sensor fusion and resolution level “is going to unlock a lot of new use cases” across multiple industries, heralding new opportunities for satellite imaging applications in India.

### Testing and Collaborations Underway

GalaxEye has rigorously tested its technology through approximately 500 aerial flights involving drones, Cessna aircraft, and high-altitude platforms. The company also successfully launched a payload on ISRO’s PSLV as part of the POEM mission, further validating their systems.

In addition, GalaxEye is actively engaging with various government ministries, including defense and agriculture, exploring potential collaborations to maximize the satellite’s impact.
