**What’s New?**

Google is expanding the capabilities of its Gemini 2.5 Flash Image model by integrating it into AI Mode in Google Search and Google Lens. This update brings the quirky yet powerful Nano Banana model—renowned for its lifelike image generation within the Gemini app—directly into Google’s ecosystem. Users can now access advanced AI-powered image creation and editing tools without leaving their favorite apps.

**Enhanced Functionality in Google Search**

With the latest update, Google Search’s AI Mode features a new “plus” icon located at the bottom-left corner of the prompt box. Tapping this icon reveals three options: Gallery, Camera, and Create Images (marked with a banana emoji). Selecting “Create Images” allows users to either generate visuals from scratch or upload existing images for AI-driven editing. This seamless integration makes image creation faster and more intuitive right from your search experience.

**Google Lens Gets a Major Upgrade**

Google Lens has also received a significant AI boost with the addition of a dedicated “Create” tab. Marked by a banana emoji on the shutter button, this new tab encourages users to capture, create, and share images effortlessly. Unlike other Lens filters, the Create tab opens directly to the front-facing camera, making it perfect for selfies and personalized edits. This update follows earlier integrations like Search Live and the Homework filter, further enhancing Lens’s versatility.

**Rollout and Availability**

The Nano Banana experience in Google Search and Lens is currently rolling out on Android devices in the United States to accounts enrolled in the AI Mode Search Lab. Additionally, Google has expanded AI Mode support to 35 new languages and more than 40 new countries and territories, bringing the total supported regions to 200.

This rollout is part of Google’s ongoing commitment to integrating generative AI capabilities deeper into its ecosystem, making advanced creative tools more accessible to users worldwide.

Stay tuned for more updates as Google continues to innovate and enhance your everyday search and image creation experience.
