**ACME Group Invests ₹5,000 Crore to Produce Green Steel**

ACME Group has announced a significant investment of approximately ₹5,000 crore to establish a new facility dedicated to producing green steel. The upcoming plant will have a production capacity of 1.2 million tons per annum (MTPA) and will focus on manufacturing Green Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) and Green Direct Reduced Iron (DRI).

This initiative is part of ACME’s broader commitment to advancing clean technology solutions in India. The company has outlined plans to scale up to 8 MTPA of green HBI and DRI over time. The project includes a 10-year take-or-pay/supply-or-pay agreement, underlining the company’s long-term strategy to integrate green steel into its expanding business portfolio.

**Green Steel Production Powered by Green Hydrogen**

ACME’s green steel production process will utilize green hydrogen sourced from its own under-construction green hydrogen facilities. The HBI/DRI plant will be established at one of ACME’s existing sites, where there is already access to both green hydrogen and renewable energy.

Currently, ACME is developing a green hydrogen plant in Odisha and has commenced construction of a similar facility in Oman, fortifying its capability to support sustainable steelmaking operations.
