MP News: Congress Demands Judicial Probe In Cough Syrup Deaths

**Congress Leaders Demand Judicial Enquiry and Compensation Over Cough Syrup Deaths in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan**
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Congress leaders from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan have called for a judicial enquiry into the deaths of children allegedly caused by poisonous cough syrup. They have also demanded compensation for the grieving families.
The incident reportedly extends to Rajasthan, where children are claimed to have died due to the same toxic cough syrup. At a joint press briefing held in New Delhi on Tuesday, MLA Tika Ram Jully of Rajasthan and Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar of Madhya Pradesh stated that 16 children have died in Chhindwara.
They further alleged that despite warnings from the local Congress MLA to the government, no preventive action was taken. “When the matter escalated, the body of a girl child was exhumed from the grave for a post-mortem examination,” Singhar revealed. He added, “Children kept dying in the state while the chief minister was reportedly visiting Assam’s Kaziranga National Park.”
Singhar also criticized Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, who denied that any deaths occurred due to the cough syrup and repeatedly defended the manufacturing company. “What kind of an insensitive government is this? What is the deputy chief minister’s connection to the medicine company?” he questioned.
In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh Congress state president Jitu Patwari announced that on October 9, candlelight marches would be held at every block and district headquarters to pay tribute to the departed children.
The Congress party continues to press for an independent judicial enquiry to uncover the truth and ensure justice for the families affected by this tragic incident.
