**YouTube Quietly Removes Bollywood AI Videos Amid Abhishek-Aishwarya Court Battle**

In a significant development, YouTube has removed hundreds of AI-generated videos featuring Bollywood actors amid an ongoing lawsuit filed by celebrity couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The legal battle centers on the unauthorized use of their likeness in AI-manipulated content.

**Removal of AI-Generated Bollywood Videos**

Following a report by Reuters, it was revealed that YouTube, a Google-owned platform, hosted multiple channels and videos similar to the ones the Bachchans objected to. These videos amassed around 16.5 million views before being taken down. YouTube confirmed the removal of a channel named *AI-generated Bollywood love stories*, which had 259 videos, as well as the shutdown of another account called *AI Bollywood Ishq*.

**Legal Proceedings and Intellectual Property Concerns**

The Bachchans have sought a ban on the creation and dissemination of AI videos that violate their intellectual property rights. They have also requested a review of YouTube’s AI training policies to prevent misuse of their likenesses. Despite a court order last month mandating the removal of several links, similar AI-manipulated videos remained accessible, raising further concerns.

The Bachchans argue that YouTube’s current content policies allow users to consent to sharing videos for training third-party AI models. This, they allege, increases the proliferation of misleading and infringing content online. Their legal filings emphasize, “Such content being used to train AI models has the potential to multiply the instances of use of any infringing content.”

**YouTube’s Stance and Ongoing Challenges**

YouTube states that it actively deletes manipulated and misleading content to maintain platform integrity. However, the emergence of AI-generated intimate videos featuring celebrity likenesses continues unabated. In response, the Bachchans are seeking $450,000 in damages from Google and other parties involved in hosting or distributing the content.

**Wider Impact and Industry Response**

YouTube remains immensely popular in India, boasting around 600 million users and serving as a major source for entertainment content, including Bollywood videos. The ongoing lawsuits by the Bachchans include hundreds of links and screenshots showcasing what they describe as “egregious, sexually explicit,” or “fictitious” AI content.

Recently, other prominent figures in the Indian film industry, including filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Nagarjuna, have also approached the courts to safeguard their personality rights against similar violations.
