BSP expects 1.5% to 2.3% September inflation rate

MANILA, Philippines — The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) indicated that inflation may have picked up in September, projecting the consumer price hike to average between 1.5 and 2.3 percent. This potential increase is attributed to higher costs in rice, fish, and fuel, which have added pressure on overall prices.
The BSP’s forecast follows the August inflation rate of 1.5 percent, which remained below the target range of 2 percent to 4 percent set by the central bank.
