3 Mistakes WWE made on RAW (September 29, 2025)

Roman Reigns made his latest return to help The Usos during the main event of WWE RAW, blasting Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed with a steel chair. However, following the win, he only seemed concerned with Jey Uso, highlighting the ongoing dynamics within the faction.
The show opened with Rhea Ripley looking for a fight. Meanwhile, Mami expressed her frustration with Asuka and Kairi Sane betraying IYO SKY last week, especially after her own victory over the Empress of Tomorrow.
In other segments, Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes exchanged heated words, ramping up the tension ahead of their highly anticipated showdown at Crown Jewel in Perth in just two weeks. Backstage, Stephanie Vaquer and Tiffany Stratton also had a confrontational exchange, adding fuel to their upcoming encounter.
Despite the buildup to future events, WWE made several missteps on RAW this week. Here are the three biggest mistakes:
### #3. Hurting the Bulgarian Brute’s Mystique
Dominik Mysterio defended the Intercontinental title against Rusev in the opening match of the night. Although Finn Balor and JD McDonagh accompanied Dominik to the ring, they left before the match began. Forced to rely on himself, the champion resorted to a low blow and holding Rusev’s tights, securing a win over The Bulgarian Brute.
While the fans treated Dirty Dom like a face, his actions were far from heroic. This kind of finish damages Rusev’s aura as a physical monster comparable to Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, or Gunther. If Rusev had been dominated through multiple chair shots or a spear, it would have been more believable and impactful.
### #2. Little to Nothing for the World Tag Team Champions on RAW
When Balor and McDonagh accompanied Dominik to the ring, they sported the World Tag Team titles, likely a reminder that RAW still has tag team champions. However, given how poorly these belts have been booked over the past two years, they feel more like props than prestigious titles.
The Judgment Day last defended the championships against the LWO on July 28th, having won them in late June. One of the core problems is the shallow depth in RAW’s tag team division. The New Day and War Raiders are the last teams before Balor and McDonagh to hold the gold.
Bringing in one or two teams from SmackDown, such as Fraxiom, DIY, or even the Street Profits, could significantly bolster the tag team scene on RAW and restore some credibility to the titles.
### #1. Repetitive Booking in the Vision vs. OG Bloodline Saga
Whenever The Vision and the OG Bloodline factions face off, the outcomes follow a familiar pattern. The Vision gains the upper hand, leaving The Usos flat on the mat one week, only for The Usos to come out on top the next, either in a match or segment.
While Breakker and Reed won at Wrestlepalooza, they lost on RAW shortly after. This sort of booking stagnates both sides and prevents either faction from gaining meaningful momentum. For feuds to feel impactful, one side should dominate at least 75% of the encounters.
As the new faction on RAW, The Vision should be establishing dominance, but instead, they win and lose in nearly equal measure. This inconsistency contrasts with the dominant booking the Bloodline and early Judgment Day received.
Even with Roman Reigns’ surprise return, his booking remains repetitive. He saves his cousins one week and gets beaten the next, often serving as a setup for his latest break from in-ring action.
WWE executive Triple H needs to shake things up, allowing one side to truly dominate the other to build higher stakes and deliver more compelling storylines in this ongoing saga.
