Kitchenware brand ProCook is ramping up its store openings as it seeks to defy the low mood on the High Street. The firm, whose adverts have featured Celebrity MasterChef winner Lisa Snowdon, is set to open five new shops next month.

A £7 million investment drive will see stores open in Birmingham, Manchester, Canterbury, Eastbourne, and Plymouth. These openings will bring ProCook’s total estate to 75 stores as the company pursues a target of 100.

Boss Lee Tappenden said: “Our investment reflects our confidence in physical retail and its role in showcasing our growing range.”

Annual sales, driven by popular items such as its Le Creuset-style casserole dishes, rose 11 percent to £69.5 million in the year ending March 30.
