Tony Blair eyes key role in Gaza under Trump peace plan – report

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair is reportedly seeking a senior role in managing postwar Gaza under a peace plan being developed by the Trump administration. According to the Financial Times, which cited sources briefed on the proposal, Mr. Blair has been suggested to chair a supervisory board called the Gaza International Transitional Authority. Reuters has not been able to immediately verify the report.
Mr. Blair was part of a meeting in late August, presided over by US President Donald Trump, focused on addressing Israel’s war in Gaza and planning for the territory’s post-war future.
In July, the Financial Times also reported that the Tony Blair Institute took part in a project aimed at developing a post-war Gaza plan. The think tank emphasized that none of its discussions with various groups concerning Gaza’s reconstruction included any proposals for the forcible relocation of people from the area.
