Police have identified the suspect involved in a recent chain collision near the Hana Road Eniwa roadside rest area. The individual, Tomohiro Imakita, a 33-year-old part-time worker from Eniwa City, allegedly caused the accident by driving recklessly and crashing into multiple vehicles.

After the crash, Imakita abandoned his car and fled on foot. He managed to escape approximately three kilometers from the scene before entering the premises of a nearby factory. Security camera footage captured Imakita running through the factory grounds, with several officers in pursuit.

Approximately 30 seconds after being cornered, officers subdued and arrested Imakita on the spot for trespassing. The pursuit and arrest occurred roughly two and a half hours after the initial collision, with video footage showing officers tackling the suspect from behind.

Police suspect that Imakita was responsible for initiating the accident due to his erratic driving. During questioning, investigators report that he has remained silent. Further investigation is ongoing.
