**Gorakhpur: Political Spat Intensifies Between BJP’s Ravi Kishan and SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav Over GST Claims**

The political tussle between BJP MP Ravi Kishan and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav escalated after Kishan reiterated his claim that goods are being sold at nearly half price due to GST reforms.

Speaking in Gorakhpur, actor-turned-politician Ravi Kishan cited an example of a jacket originally priced at ₹3,000 being available for just ₹1,600. He extended an invitation to Akhilesh Yadav to visit the local shop with him to witness the discounts firsthand.

However, Akhilesh Yadav dismissed the claim as misleading and took to social media to express his opinion. Sharing a video clip of Ravi Kishan’s statement, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister wrote that such remarks reflect ignorance if not dishonesty. “These people may not be liars, but they are certainly ignorant,” he commented.

The SP chief further suggested that leaders making such unrealistic claims should refrain from speaking altogether. He warned that those spreading falsehoods would soon face reprimand from Delhi. Akhilesh also urged citizens to take these leaders to markets to publicly expose their “unreal” figures, adding that BJP leaders have set a “world record” in spreading misinformation.

In response, Ravi Kishan accused Akhilesh Yadav of being out of touch with the realities faced by the poor. “For the poor, even a ₹10–20 saving is a big relief. You were born with a silver spoon; you can’t understand,” he stated.

Kishan also defended the government’s stance regarding legal cases against SP leader Azam Khan, emphasizing that due legal procedures are being followed. He expressed confidence that the opposition’s PDA alliance would fail in the 2027 elections.

This exchange highlights the growing political rivalry between the BJP and the Samajwadi Party, with GST reforms and economic issues at the center of their debate.
